Please Note
In order to fully experience what the Baviaanskloof Caves have to offer we recommend at least 2 nights stay.
Peak times are during school holidays and long weekends.
- Bedding is not included but can be supplied at R90 per person.
- Children
- 0 – 2 years stay for free.
- 3 to 19 years stay at “scholar” rates as detailed above.
Hiking
If you want to check on available dates please phone 044 934 1012 (day) since their email facilities are not reliable as a result of poor telephone connections in the area.
Please note that there is no cell phone reception and credit card payments are not possible due to poor communication in the Kloof.
Important
- Report at the Info office to obtain the keys for the caves.
- Arrive after 14:00 and depart before 10:00.
- Dassiebak has approx. 30 steps from the parking area to the cave.
- Aalwynbak has approx. 20 steps from the parking area to the cave.
- You need a 4×4 vehicle to reach the parking area.
- Braai Meat, and Home Baked Bread must be ordered in advance.
- Premade Kudu pies, chicken pies as well as cool drinks, coffee and ice are available.
- Braai wood is available.
- Please arrive before dark so that you can acquaint yourself with the cave while it is still light.
- With the exception of the Dassiebak all accommodation require own bedding preferably sleeping bags as well as towels.
